The smartest woman in the Fashion Week is a man

The lips are full and slightly open, a lock of blonde hair falling into the face. What a lovely woman …
Really? No, this 1.86-meter model is not a woman. It is a Serbian, Andrej Pejic, 20, who hovered at Fashion Week in Berlin, 44, on the catwalk. “I did as a child played with Barbies, tried makeup and prayed to God every day that I’d have no facial hair, “says the man with the long blond hair and girlish waist to Bild am Sonntag. “He has heard me.”
On Friday, the shooting star dressed from Michael Michalsky womenswear collection. A day earlier, he ran as a man for the Parisian designer Jean Paul Gaultier on the catwalk. The Serb was born (?) and raised in Australia, where he was discovered after high school as a model.
Designers love the 20-year-olds. “Andrej is unique in that he always puts out an inimitable presence,” says Michalsky. The model himself looks quite pragmatic: “I am a good deal, you get two for the price of one.”
The big fuss about him as a person, Andrej, who loves men and women, does not understand.
“We no longer live in the Middle Ages. I don’t define myself by my gender. We’re all human and therefore equivalent.” With him, you look really close but still….
